Our center based early childhood program in Riverside, offering half day and full day schedules for children ages 2 to 6, with individualized ABA treatment built around play, communication and real routines.

ABOUT THE CENTER

A Center Built Around How Young Children Learn

ABA Another Way | Early Learning is the center based early childhood program of ABA Your Way, at 4150 Latham Street in Riverside.

It is a medical ABA program rather than a daycare or a preschool. Every child attends on an individualized treatment plan, and hours are based on clinical recommendation and insurance authorization rather than a fixed timetable.

In practice it looks closer to a well run early learning room than a clinic. Children move between play, group routines, communication practice and school readiness activities, with their treatment team alongside them rather than across a table.

HALF DAY AND FULL DAY

Two Schedules, One Individualized Plan

Which schedule a child attends depends on their assessment, clinical recommendation and what the insurance plan authorizes. We talk you through that before anything is agreed, and we tell you plainly what your plan has approved.

Half day program

Morning, 8am to 12pm, or afternoon, 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Available for early learners and for older children.

Full day program

8am to 4pm. Available for early learners and for older children.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What a Day Looks Like

Children attend a morning half day from 8am to 12pm, an afternoon half day from 12:30pm to 4:30pm, or a full day from 8am to 4pm. Throughout the day, each child works one to one with their own behavior specialist.

The day moves between spaces built around real life, such as the Discovery Lab, Creative Studio, Market Street and Village Square, so children practice communication, play, social skills and everyday routines in settings that feel familiar.

Meals and snacks are brought from home.

THE ROOMS

Spaces Designed for Real Activities

The center is laid out around real life activities, with spaces including the Discovery Lab, Creative Studio, Kindness Corner, Sensory Room, Children’s Cafe, Market Street, Village Square and a Gross Motor Skills room.

Therapy rooms focus on Learning and Executive Functioning, Social and Communication, and Emotional Regulation and Coping Skills, and a dedicated Assessment Room is used for each child’s initial assessment.

AGES AND ELIGIBILITY

Who the Program Serves

The early intervention program is for children ages 2 to 6.

The center also serves children 7 and older, in dedicated therapy rooms separate from the early childhood area. Older children can attend the same half day and full day blocks, and there is an after school option from 4pm to 6pm.

To attend, a child needs a diagnosis and an authorization from their health plan. If you do not have those yet, we can talk you through how to get them.

AN HONEST DISTINCTION

How This Differs From Daycare or Preschool

This is the question we are asked most, and the answer matters for what you can expect.

A daycare provides care. A preschool provides education. This is a medical program: your child is here because an assessment identified specific goals, those goals are written into a treatment plan, and progress against them is measured and reported.

It also means the practical parts work differently. Attendance is set by clinical need and authorization rather than a term timetable, the day is staffed by a treatment team rather than teachers, and what your child works on is individual to them rather than a shared curriculum.
